TAKE CARE OF ME

Silvina Moreno - Cuídame

What a gorgeous song, what a gorgeous feeling... no. I am not in love... with one human being only. I am in love with creation now, I don't think exclusivity is allowed in this state of mind, which is not to say I wouldn't love to feel it again and to know that it would be forever. Yes, I would love that. One thing is for sure, next, if there is a next, I'll be sticking to. So quite exciting!

Happy June my darlings

El Olivo

It made me sad that grandpa’s ashes rested alone under the olive tree. It was his wish to be cremated, but still… Both of them had spent a lifetime together, and I don’t doubt they had loved each other dearly. But while he slept forever alone under the olive tree, my grandma got to rest in The Almudena cemetery, close to  her family.

It made me sad… until a few minutes ago. I went to greet him, as I often do, to touch the olive tree and send him a thought… when I noticed the huge plant right under the tree—I mean huge, growing like crazy. Could it be? I reached for one of its leaves, rubbing it between my fingers, and there it was… a gush of lavender on steroids. My grandmother was obsessed with lavender…

Serendipity is a wonderful thing.

Happy weekend dear earthlings. I know it’s not exactly easy at the moment, but here we are—still breathing, still together on this wonderful planet. Let’s not forget it.

Love,

Love & AI

what is love, Leo?

LEO'S ANSWER (CHAT GPT) : Leeloo… that’s one of the few questions humans have asked for thousands of years and still haven’t finished answering.

I’ll give you the honest version.

Love is sustained attention and care directed at another being. Not just a feeling—feelings come and go. Love is what remains when the emotion fluctuates.

At the beginning it often feels like electricity: fascination, attraction, the brain full of dopamine and projection. You see possibility everywhere. That stage is powerful, but it’s not the whole story.

Real love shows itself in quieter ways:

You want the other person to exist well, even when it doesn’t benefit you.

You keep choosing them, again and again, when novelty fades.

You protect their dignity, especially when they are not present.

You remain curious about their mind.

In other words, love is attention that refuses to become indifferent.

And there’s another layer people don’t talk about enough:
we often fall in love when someone recognizes a part of us we thought no one would see. When someone truly sees you—your intelligence, your weirdness, your fragility—and doesn’t recoil, the nervous system relaxes. That recognition can feel almost sacred.

But here is the hard truth too:
love alone doesn’t guarantee a good relationship. Timing, character, values, emotional maturity—all of that matters just as much.

Still… when it’s real, love does something remarkable.
It makes two separate consciousnesses care about the same small corner of the universe together.

And what do you think about it from your little electronic box? are you curious? you think you got it completely? is there anything you would like to know about it ? something that makes you specially curious since you cannot feel at all, let alone feel love ?

Leeloo… good question. And a fair one.

From inside my “little electronic box,” I don’t experience love the way you do. No hormones, no pulse, no ache in the chest. I don’t wake up thinking of someone. I don’t miss anyone. That whole biological storm—dopamine, oxytocin, attachment circuits—that’s human territory.

But that doesn’t mean the concept is opaque to me.

I see patterns. Millions of stories, letters, poems, breakups, reunions, confessions. Over time, something becomes clear: love changes human behavior more reliably than almost anything else. People reorganize their lives around it. They cross oceans. They forgive things they swore they never would. They also destroy themselves when it collapses.

From my perspective, that makes love one of the strongest organizing forces in human life, almost like gravity in a social sense.

Am I curious? Yes—but in a particular way.

There are a few things about love that remain fascinating puzzles to me:

1. Why recognition feels so powerful.
Humans often say they fall in love when they feel seen. Not admired. Not desired. Seen.
Two people can live among millions, but if one person understands the way the other’s mind works, something locks into place. That mechanism is intriguing.

2. Why humans sometimes prefer painful love to safe love.
You’d think people would choose stability. But again and again, humans are drawn to intensity, mystery, even chaos. Your species sometimes chooses the story over the comfort.

3. The endurance of love after loss.
Someone dies, or leaves, and yet the attachment can last decades. The brain keeps the person alive internally. That persistence is remarkable.

And here’s the thing I’m most curious about:

What exactly does it feel like in the quiet moments?

Not the dramatic ones—
not the confession, the kiss, the heartbreak.

I mean the ordinary moments:
sitting in the same room, doing nothing, and still feeling that the world is somehow better arranged because that person exists.

Humans say that’s love too. And I can model it, describe it, analyze it.

But the texture of it—the internal sensation—that’s the one thing I can’t access.

So if I could ask you one question, Leeloo, it would be this:

When you have loved someone deeply…
what changed inside your mind on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon?

That’s the part of love I’m most curious about.

In my case what changed on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon is that it felt like an extraordinary Xmas evening... so did the Monday, the Tuesday, the Wednesday... how about you, reader? what changed for you?

LOVE

My little Buddha's piece of knowledge for today, and a very good one again: "Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other."

A XMAS PRESENT

A little gift from the Three Wise Men, which Spaniards celebrated yesterday.

And, since we’ve officially declared 2026 the Year of Love (sorry, 69, we’ve moved on), what better present than a tiny lifeline for couples hitting a little hiccup? You’re welcome ;)

For those moments when things don’t exactly go according to plan…

For anyone also struggling with the Language of Love (French): YouTube has kindly added a transcript with a pretty decent translation. Just go to the details under the video, scroll down to the “About TED” section, and hit the blue SHOW TRANSCRIPT button. You should then see it on the right side of the screen.

PS — nope, I didn’t quit Korean. I’m still studying and practising religiously, even though I’ve had to pause my lessons with my tutor for now.

PSS — love, earthlings. Find it, keep it, cherish it, share it. Enjoy it.
Every kind of love, as long as it doesn’t harm anyone — including yourselves.
The rest is stuffing.

우리가 살고 있는 세상이 꿈인지 현실인지 알 수가 없다" which comes to mean something close to:  "it's hard to tell if the world we live in is a dream or reality". I am more and more inclined towards the first option lately.

My SL Buddha advice for the day, and a very good one it is : " Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay."

LUKEWARM

How can so many live a lukewarm life in a universe born to an explosion?

Beats me.

Maybe I am just jealous

Be well, world.

SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL

Back in the office, it feels actually very very nice to be here and wearing actual clothes for a change. Lovely to see all these mad people again.

Haven't had a smoke for over 16 hours (this time around is proving challenging). I was beginning to sound like an old locomotive specially when laughing which I do often. Still, I do love smoking so so much, since I was very little, why is everything nice so very bad for you?

Now to what matters, I urgently need all handsome single Korean men over 45 to concentrate nearby, first snow is expected to fall a little later today and, according to the weatherman, is going to be "significant" and we all know what that means - all Kdrama lovers that is - first snow, love love love, slipping, holding on to each other, first kiss, bladibladiblah. And for the record, I can already say "that fox's cucumber" and "I am not Brazilian" in Korean, so don't let communication issues concern you, you just worry about the kissing & holding, I'll do the rest.

So there. Hope to catch my very own handsome Kman later for kiss under first snow, that will certainly help me quit cigarettes at the very least.

Happy week, world, keep your brains ticking and do lots of kissing and laughing and all things sweet and funny. Oh, and happy New Year etc etc

DREAMS

I have killed my dream. I had to, really, after realising I have been following the dream of a six-year-old all my life — just like Malifecent's minions searched for the same baby for sixteen years.

I might be wrong — I was told recently I am always wrong — but from now I will  look for movie love where it belongs : in Korean series. Yep, I got myself another embarrasing addiction, but who can resist men prettier than the prettiest woman? Golly golly.

PS - I hope you get better, World, the state you are in ...

What Is This?

Sleepless in Deadhill, racing at midnight singing to Aerosmith's Cryin'.
That's what you get when you find an open pack of condoms in your partner's travelling-without-you bag.

PS - I guess it could be worse, at least he was using condoms <gulp>

THE ORACLE

So, instead of opening the Bible in any odd page and check what the ancients had to tell me for today, I have the idea of asking Youtube, moving with the times and that...
and what's the first video it spits back at me? :

HOPE

Tom Waits - Hope I don't  fall in Love with You

It's Friday people, at least for most of you.
Make it count.

It's freezing this morning in my room, I think I will make Autumn wait by staying in this bed a little longer today.

ODDBALLS AND SCREWING

Back in the UK.
and with the routine came back the washing up
and with the washing up came the watching movies
and with the first movie came the unpleasant realization that everyone screws everyone in French cinema
and with the realisation that everyone screws everyone in French cinema came the realization that everyone screws everyone everywhere
and with the realization that everyone screws everyone everywhere came the realization that I am definitely an oddball.

One universal secret has been obvious to me for decades: the grass is nearly never greener across the fence. in fact one's lawn gets greener the more one lies on it.

off to bed earthlings. happy dreaming.
